Defect Mitigation

Amethyst Defect Mitigation (ADM™), a proprietary process initially developed as a defect passivation technology for improving production yield and operability of Mercury-Cadmium-Telluride wafers and devices, is a proven successful technology for other chemical compounds used in semiconductor wafer and device fabrication.  Amethyst has performed contracted commercial treatment of Gallium Nitride in High Electron Mobility Transistors, Cadmium Telluride for solar cells, and exotic structures for electro-optical imagers.  Unlike other forms of defect mitigation that only treat surface layer defects, the ADM™ process mitigates defects deep into the layers of the treated material, thus improving both yield and operability of the treated structures.
